MLS Game Summary - Kansas City at Toronto FC

Final Score: Kansas City 0 - Toronto FC 0

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Rookie goalie Brian Edwards made five saves for his second shutout as Toronto FC extended its home unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 0-0 draw against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday.

Edwards started in place of Canadian national team goalie Greg Sutton, who also has been impressive this season with four shutouts for Toronto. TFC leads Major League Soccer with six shutouts this season.

Toronto FC (6-4-3) is 5-0-3 at BMO Field - which was sold out again - this year and its overall streak dates back to the final two games of last season.

"I'm grateful for the point. I'm really grateful for the point," Toronto coach John Carver said. "Because that could be the difference of getting in a playoff spot or just missing out."

Kansas City (3-5-4) goalie Kevin Hartman made four saves for his fifth shutout of the season, but the Wizards' winless skid stretched to seven matches.

"I thought the guys put in a great effort," Hartman said. "We were very, very embarrassed with the effort we put in last week (in a 3-0 loss to Columbus). To be able to come to Toronto, which is a very difficult place to play, and to get a point out of here, is a very good tie."

Toronto striker Danny Dichio was the only player to hit the back of the net all day but his chance in injury time was erased on offside.

"I just tried to gamble a little bit," Dichio said. "I thought I was onside, I looked around and saw the linesman, and he said I was offside. So I have to give him the benefit of the doubt."

Kansas City lost Roger Espindoza to a red card for shoving Carl Robinson in the back of the head three minutes into stoppage time, but Toronto FC couldn't take advantage in the final seconds.

"Fifteen minutes from the end, I thought there was only one team that was going to win and it wasn't us," Carver said. "In the end, they could have won the game."

Toronto visits the New England Revolution and Kansas City hosts Real Salt Lake on June 28.
