Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - Substitute Dominic Oduro scored two goals in the closing minutes, including the game winner in stoppage time, to lead FC Dallas to a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake in Marco Ferruzzi's debut as interim coach on Saturday.
Oduro, who entered the match in the 65th minute, tied the score in the 83rd and added his second goal just seconds into stoppage time.
FC Dallas (3-3-3), which fired coach Steve Morrow on Tuesday, broke a four-game winless streak. The Hoops last won a Major League Soccer game more than a month ago.
Real Salt Lake (2-5-2), which beat Dallas 2-1 two weeks ago, dropped its second straight. Fabian Espindola scored Real's lone goal in the 69th minute.
Dallas, which had lost three of its last four games, had the only good scoring chances in the first half off headers from Kenny Cooper and Drew Moor that both went wide left.
The Hoops were handed a golden opportunity in the 38th minute when RSL defender Ian Joy was shown his second yellow card and ejected. But Dallas gave the edge away before halftime when Bobby Rhine got a red card for slapping a Real player and was ejected.
With both sides down to 10 players, fatigue finally started to become a factor about 20 minutes into the second half.
Espindola gave Real the lead by finishing off a run down the left side with his third goal of the season. Javier Morales set up the goal for his fifth assist.
Moor was denied on another header in the 70th minute when Real goalkeeper Nick Rimando made his best save of the match to deflect the shot.
Oduro finally delivered the equalizer 13 minutes later off a long pass from the right side from Moor. Oduro ran under the pass and scored off a glancing header from just a few yards out.
Andre Rocha earned his fourth assist of the season by setting up Oduro's winner in the 91st minute. Oduro controlled the pass well at the top of the area and then slotted the ball into the right side.
RSL hopes to bounce back on May 31 when it hosts the San Jose Earthquakes. FCD will try to build on its win June 1 at the Colorado Rapids.
