MLS Game Summary - Kansas City at Los Angeles
Carson, CA (Sports Network) - After topping the Kansas City Wizards 3-1 at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night, the Los Angeles Galaxy (4-3-2) take the top spot in the Western Conference table.
The Wizards, on the other hand, stay second from the bottom in the Eastern table after their winless streak reached four games, all on the road.
Claudio Lopez opened the scoring in the game, giving the visiting Wizards (3-4-2) a 1-0 lead five minutes before the first half break before the Galaxy exploded for three goals in the second half.
Landon Donovan got things started with his league-leading ninth goal of the season, the latest from the penalty spot in the 54th minute.
Edson Buddle, coming off a three-goal performance in a win last week, got the go-ahead goal 20 minutes later with Donovan and Alan Gordan getting the helpers before David Beckham added an insurance goal four minutes into stoppage time.
The Galaxy will be gunning for their third straight win when they travel to Toronto for their next league fixture on May 31 while Kansas City has some time off, playing its next match at Real Salt Lake on June 7.
