Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake, winless in its first two fixtures of the Major League Soccer season, earned not only a win, but its largest margin of victory in franchise history, 4-0, over D.C. United Saturday night.
Kyle Beckerman scored two goals, Dema Kovalenko had two assists and Robbie Findley added a goal and an assist off the bench to lead RSL to the dominating victory.
Beckerman opened the scoring in the 12th minute, taking a feed from Kovalenko at the top of the penalty area and firing it home, past United 'keeper Jose Carvallo, who was making his first league start of the season.
Fabian Espindola doubled the home side's advantage seven minutes later, which is how the score stayed until Beckerman added his second goal in the 78th minute.
Findley added a goal three minutes from time to close out the scoring.
United (1-2-0), will have a chance to rebound when it hosts Columbus on Thursday, while RSL (1-1-1) travels to Toronto next Saturday for its next league fixture.
