Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rapids are coming off consecutive wins for the first time this season and will look to continue their climb up Major League Soccer's Western Conference table when they host the New England Revolution at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

The Rapids have climbed from last in the entire league to third in the West during a recent run that has seen the club win three of five.

The play of the team's central defensive pair of Cory Gibbs and Mike Petke as well as defensive midfielder Pablo Mastroeni has been pivotal in the recent success.

"Let me tell you, in this league [good defenders] are what you need," Gibbs said. "Mike and I can fill the hole in the middle, and you can't ask more of Jordan and Kosuke. I feel comfortable playing next to Jordan [Harvey] and Mike does with Kosuke [Kimura]. They know their jobs, and that's what you need in this league."

The Revs snapped a three-game winless streak last week and will be looking to build on that as well.

"It's been a while for us I think being on this side of it and it's a much better feeling. It's nice just to be able to get three points," Revs midfielder Steve Ralston said. "It's been a while since we've won a game so you know we feel like we are finally getting our legs back and we can kind of move forward and get something going here."

The team also hopes to close the gap on first-place Columbus in the Eastern Conference table. The Crew have a six point lead after defeating New York on Thursday.

Both teams will be relatively healthy for the match, with the revs Adam Cristman, who is out for the season after toe surgery, the only significant player of out the lineup.
