Dallas (6-7-7) at Kansas City (6-7-7), 8 p.m.
Kansas City, KS (Sports Network) - FC Dallas hits the road when it travels to take on the Kansas City Wizards in Major League Soccer action at CommmunityAmerica Ballpark on Saturday.
The teams have identical 6-7-7 records, but sit in much different positions in their respective conference tables. The Wizards are currently in last in the East while FCD is third in the much weaker West.
The Wizards are coming off a 2-1 loss at Colorado in their last league fixture and will be aiming to rebound at home.
"It is difficult to play on the road in the altitude," Kansas City coach Curt Onalfo said. "I thought that we weathered the storm and we had a good sense of urgency. It was not because of a lack of effort, our guys always give 100 percent. They were playing at home and dropping off. They played low pressure and looked to counter on us. Usually you deal with that kind of stuff when you are at home because most teams come in conservatively. I think we handled it pretty well in the first half. Then they got that second goal and it proved to be too much."
The hoops are also coming off a 2-1 road loss at Columbus. The team dominated the first half but the crew came out and answered in the second half before eventually winning the game.
"I thought it was two teams that played pretty intense," FCD coach Schellas Hyndman said. "I thought we had an outstanding first half; I kind of almost thought we were the home team for awhile. Unfortunately, we did not score than one goal, but we came out in the second half and were able to do pretty well in the first five, 10 minutes of the second half and when Columbus scored the first goal, they quickly scored again."
Both teams will be searching for more consistency on Saturday.
"Like I've said from the beginning, we need consistency, not only from the team but from everyone individually," Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad said. "It seems some guys have good nights and then the next night not so good and it just kind of goes in waves. Sometimes it's older guys and sometimes it's our younger guys and when everyone is on the same page we seem to win. It's just maintaining that consistency and doing it on a week-in, week-out basis."
