MLS Preview from The Sports Network

Colorado (5-6-0) at Toronto (5-4-2), 7:30 p.m.

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto FC returns home - where it is 4-0-2 this season - to host the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer action on Saturday at BMO Field.

Both clubs are coming off road losses last week, with the Reds losing at Houston 3-1 and the Rapids falling at Los Angeles, 3-2.

"I just thought from the first whistle we were dreadful," TFC coach John Carver said of the loss. "We had a spell in the game where Jeff [Cunningham] scores a great goal and we got a little bit of pressure, but no excuses tonight, we were beaten by the better side."

Toronto has proven to be a considerable different club on the road than it is at home. It is just 1-4 when it travels south of the Canadian border.

"I think our No. 1 priority is to win for us, and we need to start doing that on the road, not just at home," said Toronto goalkeeper Greg Sutton, who will be absent on international duty on Saturday. "In order to be successful in this league, you have to win on the road, and we haven't done that this year, and that's something that we're going to have to start doing or we won't be where we want to be at the end of the year."

Luckily for Toronto, they don't have to worry about being on the road for this game.

The Rapids, on the other hand, do need to worry about their road performance, where they are 1-4, including the loss at the Galaxy last weekend.

"I thought they played well in the first half. They dominated," Rapids coach Fernando Clavijo said of the most recent loss. "We had some chances. We had a tough time putting together chances."

Colorado did rebound in the second half after going down 3-0 to make it a game, however.

"In the second half, I thought it was better," Clavijo said. "When we needed to I thought had the urgency to go forward. I thought we did a good job of attacking their goal. We talked about that at halftime. We did a good job of trying to create something. In the second half, we took better shots than we did in the first half. [L.A.] took advantage of things when they needed to and got the result."

Both teams will be weakened because of international absences on Saturday, with the reds missing Sutton, defender Jim Brennan, midfielders Amado Guevara and Maurice Edu and defender Tyrone Marshall. Colorado will be without goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul, midfielder Pablo Mastroeni and defender Ugo Ihemelu.
