MLS Preview from The Sports Network

Los Angeles (4-3-2) at Toronto (4-3-2), 3:30 p.m.

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Two of Major League Soccer's most popular teams, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Toronto FC, square off on Saturday afternoon at BMO Field.

The Galaxy are currently in first place in the Western Conference thanks in large part to the top offense in Major League Soccer, while TFC is in the middle of the Eastern table, but over .500 for the first time in franchise history. The teams have identical 4-3-2 records headed into the fixture Saturday.

This is the second meeting between the teams this season, with Toronto FC winning at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Ca. in mid-April. It was just the second road win in the team's short history after getting a late game-winner in a 3-2 victory.

The league's only Canadian club is coming off a split with D.C. United in a home-and-home last week. Forward Danny Dichio scored all three TFC goals last week, a 1-0 win at home and a 3-2 loss at RFK Stadium.

He will look to continue his hot stretch against David Beckham and the Galaxy on Saturday.

The Galaxy are coming off a 3-1 home win over Kansas City in their last league fixture, their second straight win.

"We did all the preparations, but if you see how we start - the first two minutes of the game was ridiculous," L.A. coach Ruud Gullit said. "We were giving the ball away. We looked nervous. They were growing into the game. Despite that, we had to be one-nil up. I think that overall that sometimes we forget what we need to do; therefore, there was a lot of irritation on the pitch."

Saturday's game will lack some of the teams' respective stars because of their participation with their national teams. Toronto will be without starting goalkeeper Greg Sutton and midfielders Carl Robinson and Amado Guevara while Los Angeles will be without defender Ante Jazic and could be without Beckham, who played for England vs. the U.S. on Wednesday.

Toronto will also be without winger Laurent Robert, who received a red card at United last week.
