MLS Preview from The Sports Network

Houston (1-2-4) at Chicago (5-1-1), 8:30 p.m.

Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire are two teams at the opposite ends of the Major League Soccer spectrum. The Fire sit two points behind Eastern table leaders Columbus while Houston is just three points up on last-place San Jose in the Western table.

The Dynamo are coming off their first victory of the season, 2-1 over Colorado, however, and will look to build a modest winning streak when they travel to take on the Fire at Toyota Park on Saturday.

"It's a good feeling," Houston midfielder Dwayne De Rosario said after his team earned its first victory. "It's not the way you want it to come out, giving up a goal in the second half. In all fairness, I think we did well with the way we kept composed after they scored. A team with our record would typically let our heads down and come out with a tie. We kept creating chances, and we got a little break our way that we worked for. I got a shot, and I'm glad I buried it."

De Rosario and forward Brian Ching, two offensive leaders on the back-to-back champs, scored their first goals of the season in the win.

"I'm happy for them," Houston coach Dominic Kinnear said. "They've been close a couple of other times this season. I think it's good for the overall attitude of the team. It's nice to wake up and have the frustration be away from you."

Chicago is on a three game winning streak and will look to continue to carry the flame as the top defensive club in the league on Saturday against last season's top defensive team. The Fire have allowed just three goals in seven games, with one of those being an own goal.

Last week Chicago shut out back-to-back defending Supporters' Shield winners D.C. United, 2-0, on the road.

"We respect them cause they're a good team and we know coming in here it's always going to be good soccer," Chicago coach Denis Hamlett said. "Our guys know that and these guys are professionals, they know the importance of every game."

Cuauhtemoc Blanco is leading the charge for a very well balanced Fire club this season, but he knows the season is still young.

"We are only just beginning the season," the former Mexican international said. "We have to keep working and getting better each day."
