MLS Preview from The Sports Network

Dallas (2-1-2) at San Jose (1-3-0), 10 p.m.

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes will play their first Major League Soccer match at their new temporary home on Saturday night when they host FC Dallas at Buck Shaw Stadium.

The 'Quakes have played one home game this season, but it was at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, where they will play three home contests this year.

The team is hoping that opening its home schedule will mean a little more success on the pitch after losing three of its first four contests to open the season, including a 2-0 loss at New York this past Sunday.

"We struggled trying to get a grip on the game. Not to blame the field, but it's never easy to play on the other team's field, especially when they're pressuring you," 'Quakes coach Frank Yallop said after the loss to New York. "The first half at times, we did a good job stopping their pressure. It seemed like a stalemate game until the penalty and obviously that changes the game."

FC Dallas come into the game after their first loss of the season, vs. New England at home on April 24.

"I think we deserved to get something out of the game," Hoops coach Steve Morrow said. "I think New England came in here and stole the game from us; we completed dominated the game from start to finish. We're very, very disappointed to lose that game. They had one shot on goal the second half, and we're extremely disappointed."

The Hoops are relatively healthy heading into the game, while the Earthquakes will be without their starting center back, Ryan Cochrane, who suffered a concussion in a mid-week loss to Real Salt Lake in a U.S. Open Cup qualifier.
