NHL Game Summary - Dallas at St. Louis

Final Score: Dallas 3 - St. Louis 1

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Loui Eriksson scored two goals, as the Dallas Stars defeated the St. Louis Blues, 3-1, at Scottrade Center.

Jere Lehtinen also tallied for the Stars, who have gone 15-4-0 in their last 19 games. Mike Ribeiro collected two assists and Turco stopped 27-of-28 shots to earn his 28th win of the season.

Dallas made a big splash at the trade deadline, acquiring forward Brad Richards and goaltender Johan Holmqvist from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for goaltender Mike Smith, forwards Jussi Jokinen and Jeff Halpern and a fourth-round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Keith Tkachuk provided the lone goal for the Blues, who opened a four-game homestand by dropping their fourth straight. Manny Legace allowed three goals on 21 shots in defeat.

Following a sluggish second period, in which they were outshot 17-6, the Stars erupted for three goals in the third.

Eriksson netted an even-strength goal at 2:27 to put Dallas on the board. Off a goalmouth feed from Ribeiro, Eriksson chipped the puck over the extended right pad of Legace to tie the score at one.

Lehtinen's power-play tally at 7:43 made it 2-1, and then Eriksson beat Legace high to the short side with a snapshot at 9:29 to put the game away.

"We weren't playing in their zone as much as we could have," said Turco. It's one night that you keep hanging around and find a way to win. That's great and all, but we could be a lot better, we know that."

In the early moments of the first period, Eriksson was whistled for slashing and St. Louis cashed in on the power play. From a sharp angle, Tkachuk snapped a wrister between the pads of Turco, who didn't have his stick on the ice and got caught leaning the other way, at the 1:31 mark.
