NHL Game Summary - Calgary at Dallas

Final Score: Calgary 3 - Dallas 2

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Jarome Iginla's goal with 2:27 remaining lifted the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.

Alex Tanguay scored twice for the Flames, who have won two straight and wrapped up a five-game road trip with a 3-2-0 record. Curtis Joseph stopped 29 shots in the win.

"It's nice to win," said Iginla. "They're on a hot streak, and it's always nice to snap a team on a streak. It was good to make it a good road trip."

Niklas Hagman and Mattias Norstrom lit the lamp for Dallas, which had a two- game win streak snapped. The Stars are 8-2 in the month of February. They sit in second place in the Western Conference, but trail the idle Red Wings by 10

"I would rather score when the team is winning," said Norstrom. "It was a tough one because we let them hang around. You have to give them credit because they knew they were just one shot away from winning and they got that one shot. We always hang around games and are in close games, but Calgary got that important last goal. We look at this game as a hiccup. We've been playing great hockey as of late and we'll look to turn it around on Friday."

With the game tied at one to open the third, Tanguay collected his second of the night to give Calgary the lead. It was a short-handed goal, as he raced the length of the ice and deposited the puck behind Turco just 30 seconds in.

Dallas, however, tied it on the power play. It started with a faceoff win, and ended with Norstrom rifling a shot from the top of the left circle that sailed high over the glove of Joseph at 1:57.

Iginla got the go-ahead goal with 2:27 left, as Daymond Langkow won a race to the puck at the end boards. He turned and dished to Iginla, who was all alone in front of the crease and rammed the puck past Turco for a 3-2 lead.

Calgary hung on the rest of the way, having collected 11 shots on goal in the third after just seven combined over the first two periods.

The Flames were first on the board, as Tanguay notched his 12th of the year on the power play at 13:29 of the opening stanza. The shot came from a hard angle, as the puck ricocheted out of the crease and right onto the blade of Tanguay's stick. He then lifted the disc and somehow got it over a prone Turco.

Dallas answered with an even-strength goal by Hagman just 16 seconds into the second period.
