Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Stephane Robidas scored two goals and added an assist, as the Dallas Stars defeated the Anaheim Ducks, 4-2, at Honda Center.
Mike Ribeiro registered a goal and two assists for the Stars, who have won eight of their last nine games. Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen each collected two helpers, while Marty Turco made 20 saves to earn the 200th win of his career.
Chris Kunitz lit the lamp twice for the Ducks, who opened a season-long seven- game homestand. The Ducks were coming off a nine-game road trip in which the club dropped the first four tests, but rebounded to win the last five.
Corey Perry, appearing in the 200th game of his NHL career, registered two assists to celebrate the milestone, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed three goals on 20 shots in defeat.
Right winger Teemu Selanne made his first appearance at Honda Center since Game Five of the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals.
"We knew the first game is always tough coming off a road trip, but still it's disappointing," said Selanne. "We wanted to win the game. The bottom line is we didn't play good enough."
The victory extends Dallas' lead over the Ducks in the Pacific Division to six points.
Robidas netted a pair of power-play goals in the second period to break a 1-1 tie.
First, with Ryan Getzlaf in the box for hooking, Robidas fired a slap shot that found the twine behind a screened Giguere at 4:56, and, with 1:39 left in the frame, the defenseman launched another slapper from the point that slid between the pads of Giguere.
Kunitz's second tally of the night drew the Ducks within one, 3-2, at 11:18 of the third. Getzlaf dished out from behind the cage to Kunitz, whose one-timer from the left circle deflected off the left skate of Dallas defenseman Nicklas Grossman and in behind Turco.
Steve Ott's empty-net marker with 18 seconds remaining sealed the win.
"It was crucial that special teams could play as well as they could on the road," said Modano.
Off a Dallas turnover, the Ducks opened the scoring at 3:51 of the first. Anaheim's fierce pressure forced a turnover down low and Perry threw the puck out front to Kunitz, who fired a low shot past the left pad of Turco.
With the Stars enjoying a 5-on-3 advantage, Ribeiro snapped a wrister from the middle of the right circle past the stick of Giguere to tie the score with 3:18 remaining.
