NHL Game Summary - Los Angeles at Columbus

Final Score: Los Angeles 3 - Columbus 2

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Patrick O'Sullivan wristed in the game-winner in the shootout as the Los Angeles Kings topped the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-2.

Anze Kopitar scored both regulation goals for the Kings, who have won three of four. Dan Cloutier stopped 31 shots, and O'Sullivan added an assist for LA.

Ron Hainsey and Rick Nash scored for the Blue Jackets, who have lost two in a row and six of seven. Michael Peca had two assists and Pascal Leclaire, who returned after missing two games with a sprained neck, turned aside 32 shots for Columbus.

"We have to find a way to win those games," said Leclaire. "You lose the shootout and get a point, it's not bad, but for us right now, we have to win."

Nash and LA's Dustin Brown were the only players to score in the first shootout, though Kopitar had a chance to cap his evening with the game-winner. His backhanded attempt was turned away by Leclaire, though, forcing an extra round. Jason Chimera of the Blue Jackets couldn't score, setting up O'Sullivan, who skated in and wristed the puck past Leclaire's blocker for the win.

"It was a very good win for our group tonight," said Kings head coach Marc Crawford. "We didn't make a great many mistakes tonight, and Cloutier was there for us when we did."

Kopitar opened the scoring with his goal just 43 seconds into the game, giving the Kings the early lead.

Hainsey scored on the power play to tie the game just under five minutes later, though.

Kopitar's second goal, this time on the power play, put the Kings back on top 9:02 into the second period. Nash answered with a power-play score of his own at 16:56, knotting the game at 2-2.

A fight broke out late in the overtime, and the teams had 1:44 of 3-on-3 action to close the extra session. Neither could score, though, forcing the shootout.
