NHL Game Summary - St. Louis at Dallas

Final Score: St. Louis 2 - Dallas 6

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Mike Ribeiro posted a goal and two assists, as the Dallas Stars thumped the St. Louis Blues, 6-2, at American Airlines Center.

Antti Miettinen tallied twice for the Stars, who have reeled off six straight wins, matching their season-best set from November 16-26. Brenden Morrow, Jussi Jokinen and Jere Lehtinen also scored, while Matt Niskanen and Mike Modano each collected two assists.

Mike Smith stopped 27-of-29 shots to earn his 11th win of the season. Goaltender Marty Turco, who missed the last game with a sore neck, served as the backup.

"It was nice to see six go on the board, so hats off to the boys," said Smith. "Tonight, we had a good third and kept fighting. They (the Blues) are a skilled team who is always dangerous, so it was nice to put them away."

Jamal Mayers had a goal and an assist for the Blues, who have dropped three straight and 10 of their last 12 games overall. Jay McClement added a goal, and Hannu Toivonen allowed four goals on 15 shots before he was replaced by Manny Legace, who finished the game with six saves.

"Manny had the flu for the past two days and we didn't want to play him tonight," said St. Louis coach Andy Murray. "This was the game that Hannu had to play, but we had to use Manny."

Morrow put the Stars on the board 5:02 into the contest with a power-play goal, and Jokinen's 13th goal of the season at the 2:11 mark of the second gave the Stars a 2-0 advantage.

With the Stars up a man, Ribeiro fired a laser from the right circle high over the left shoulder of Toivonen. However, McClement made it a 3-1 game at 9:45 of the second. Mayers slipped a pass out front, and he stashed the puck behind Smith.

Dallas reclaimed a three-goal cushion less than three minutes later, as Miettinen snapped a wrister between the pads of Toivonen, ending the goaltender's night prematurely.

The Blues trimmed the deficit to 4-2 with 1:59 remaining in the stanza, as Mayers used his speed to outrace Ribeiro to a loose puck and whipped a backhander past Smith.

Lehtinen's power-play marker at 3:03 of the third made it a 5-2 game, and Miettinen's second goal at 8:42 was his 12th of the season, establishing a new career high.
