NHL Game Summary - Los Angeles at New Jersey

Final Score: Los Angeles 3 - New Jersey 6

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Colin White scored his first goal in nearly two years and also added an assist as the Devils blistered the Kings, 6-3, at the Prudential Center.

It was the Kings' first trip to New Jersey in four years, as they had not visited since a 3-2 overtime loss on February 15, 2004.

David Clarkson, Travis Zajac and Sergei Brylin each added a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Patrick Elias and Karel Rachunek also tallied, John Madden had a pair of assists and Martin Brodeur made 23 saves in the victory.

"I think we got back on track tonight," said White, who was hit in the eye with a puck during training camp and missed the first 20 games of the season. "Everybody was on the same page and that was a big factor. It was fun for the night and we'll get refocused tomorrow. Every game is huge from here on out. We have to get on the playoff push here. It's so tight around the league and everyone's fighting for a playoff spot."

Brian Boyle, Jack Johnson and Lubomir Visnovsky lit the lamp for the Kings, who have dropped two of three and three of their last five games overall. Jason LaBarbera allowed just five goals on 24 shots over two periods, while Jean-Sebastien Aubin made two saves the rest of the way.

The Devils had the only goal of the first period, as Clarkson directed a shot from the right circle that sailed through the legs of a defenseman and the five-hole of LaBarbera at 4:43.

Both teams then combined for six goals on 22 shots in the middle stanza.

Elias made it 2-0 early on in the period, as he one-timed a feed from Johnny Oduya while stationed to the right side of the net at 2:30.

Boyle, meanwhile, notched his first NHL goal and cut the Devils' lead to 2-1 at 8:38, as he tapped the puck by Brodeur from in close.

Boyle, who was an emergency callup from Lowell of the American Hockey League, got to the arena about 10 minutes before the start of the game and scored on his first shot in his NHL debut.

"It's a pretty neat feeling," said Boyle. I'm just trying to take it all in. It hasn't hit me yet, I don't think. It slipped away from us there for whatever reason. It's nice to score, but you wanna win obviously."

New Jersey had the answer to that tally, as Rachunek one-timed a pass from Jamie Langenbrunner over the glove of LaBarbera a little more than a minute later.

The torrid pace continued, and Johnson again made it a one-goal game on a play that mirrored the Devils' previous goal. New Jersey, however, was not about to let its lead slip away.

White notched his first of the season and made it 4-2 when he stunned LaBarbera with a slapper directly off the draw. Then, with five seconds remaining, Zajac pursued the loose puck as it drifted through the crease, poking it between the skates of LaBarbera to give New Jersey a 5-2 edge.

The Kings cut it to 5-3 on Visnovsky's goal with 5:03 remaining in the third, but Brylin got it back for New Jersey when he knocked down the puck in the right circle and shot it through the Aubin's pads.
