Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Pavel Datsyuk scored the go-ahead goal after setting up Detroit's first score, and the Red Wings came back to down the Boston Bruins, 3-1.
Henrik Zetterberg also had a goal and an assist for the streaking Red Wings, who have won seven straight. Brian Rafalski also scored for Detroit, and Chris Osgood stopped 22-of-23 shots on the night.
Chuck Kobasew scored the lone goal for Boston, with assists by Glen Metropolit and Milan Lucic. Tim Thomas let in the three scores on 32 shots for the Bruins, who had won three in a row and five of six entering play.
Boston jumped on top early in the first period. A neutral zone turnover by the Red Wings sprung Kobasew and Metropolit on a two-on-one, with Kobasew dishing the puck and getting it back before wristing it in for a 1-0 lead 7:52 into the game.
Zetterberg wristed a shot past Thomas right after a face-off to tie the game. The disc bounced quickly out of the net, but a referee review confirmed that it had struck inside the net first, and the game was knotted at 1-1 with 4:56 left in the second period.
"It was nice to score a goal after Thomas has been playing good lately and it was nice to get one by him," said Zetterberg. "We're just doing our thing and they tried to play us as solid as possible."
Datsyuk banged in the rebound of a Zetterberg shot just 1:53 into the third period, putting the Red Wings in front.
"They get a good bounce, goes to his stick, puts it in and seems like they built momentum off that," said Bruins defenseman Aaron Ward. "Coming into the third, they get a timely goal and something that puts us on our heels and against Detroit, you can't afford to be forced to open your system up."
Rafalski put the nail in Boston's coffin with his power-play slapper that found its way between Thomas' right arm and his chest, and into the net with 5:58 left in regulation.
