NHL Game Summary - Columbus at Phoenix

Final Score: Columbus 4 - Phoenix 3

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Rick Nash scored two goals, including a highlight reel game-winner in the dying moments of the third, as the Columbus Blue Jackets edged the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-3.

Rostislav Klesla and Nikolai Zherdev also scored for the Blue Jackets, who have won four straight. Nash also added an assist, while Sergei Fedorov and Michael Peca each collected two helpers. Pascal Leclaire made 19 of his 32 saves in the third period.

Shane Doan, Peter Mueller and Martin Hanzal each posted a goal and an assist for Phoenix, which has lost two of three. Mikael Tellqvist allowed four goals on 32 shots in defeat.

In the third, Phoenix enjoyed a two-man advantage for 1:33 and Mueller's goal at 4:58 knotted the score at two.

Columbus regained the lead on Zherdev's wraparound goal at 8:26.

With 3:12 left in the third, Nash was called for high-sticking and the Coyotes pulled Tellqvist to create a 6-on-4 advantage. Mueller's shot was stopped, but Leclaire failed to control the rebound and Hanzal deposited the puck in the back of the net with 1:38 left.

Nash, on a great individual effort, gave the Blue Jackets a 4-3 lead with 22 seconds to play in regulation.

Carrying the puck into the offensive zone against two defenders, he stick handled around Phoenix defenseman Derek Morris, then beat Keith Ballad with an inside-outside move. Nash continued to drive to the net, pulled the puck across the crease, where Tellqvist tried to poke check, but Nash maintained possession and tucked it into the net.

Nick Boynton and Doan were whistled for infractions at the 15:24 of the first, giving the Blue Jackets a 5-on-3 power play for a full two minutes. Phoenix successfully killed the power play, but nine seconds later, Doan atoned for his penalty by scoring the first goal of the game with 2:25 remaining.

Tellqvist made 13 saves in the opening stanza to keep the Blue Jackets off the board. Conversely, Phoenix generated only four shots in the first.

Nash tied the game near the midway point of the second and Klesla registered the 100th point of his career with a power-play tally in the late stages of the second frame.
