Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 33 saves as the Anaheim Ducks knocked off the Nashville Predators, 2-1, at Sommet Center.
Corey Perry and Brandon Bochenski each had a goal for the Ducks, who have won five straight and seven of their last eight games. Ryan Getzlaf added a pair of assists in the win.
Jason Arnott scored a goal while Chris Mason stopped 14 shots in the loss for the Predators, who have dropped three of four.
Bochenski gave Anaheim a 1-0 at 15:12 of the first period when he deflected Mathieu Schneider's slap shot from the blue line through the legs of Mason.
Giguere made 10 saves in the opening frame to keep the Predators off the board.
A scoreless second period saw Giguere make nine saves and Mason just four.
Anaheim added some insurance 7:26 into the third. Corey Perry accepted an outlet pass in the neutral zone, skated into the Nashville end and went from the backhand to the forehand and slipped the disc past the left pad of Mason for his 25th goal of the season.
The goal proved fortunate as Nashville made it a one-goal game with 4:36 to play. With Kent Huskins in the box for hooking, J.P. Dumont sent a pass from the right circle to the left where Arnott blasted a one-timer past Giguere.
The Predators pulled Mason with under a minute to play for the extra attacker, but were unable to knot the game as Anaheim escaped with the victory.
