New York, NY (Sports Network) - Petr Prucha posted a goal and an assist, as the New York Rangers extended the Buffalo Sabres' franchise-record losing streak to 10 games with a 2-1 win at Madison Square Garden.

Brandon Dubinsky also registered a goal and an assist, and Henrik Lundqvist made 23 saves for the Rangers, who have won two of three.

"We're trying to be really focused out there and make sure we don't make any mistakes," said Dubinsky. "We get the puck in deep, we board check and create energy. When we do that, we get turnovers. We create chances for ourselves and for each other."

Jason Pominville tallied and Ryan Miller allowed two goals on 35 shots for Buffalo, which has not recorded a victory since a 6-5 shootout decision in Philadelphia on December 22, going 0-5-5 in that span.

This is Sabres' longest winless streak since October 25-November 19, 2002, when they went 12 games (0-9-3) without a win.

"We didn't make a lot of good plays," said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. "We didn't make good decisions."

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead at the 6:15 mark of the first when Dubinsky, who was selected to the Eastern Conference YoungStar squad on Tuesday, fired a shot from the right wing behind Miller.

Pominville lit the lamp at 2:43 of the second, tying the game at one. Brian Campbell threaded a perfect tape-to-tape feed from the right circle to Pominville, who buried the puck in the back of the net.

The Rangers, however, regained the lead at 9:42. Following a clean faceoff win, Dubinsky threw the puck back to Paul Mara at the point, whose one-timer was redirected in the slot by Prucha.

In the middle stanza, Buffalo had a 5-on-3 power play for 1:52, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

The Sabres then mustered only five shots in the third.
