NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at Phoenix

Final Score: Anaheim 2 - Phoenix 3

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Peter Mueller scored the lone goal in the shootout, and Ilya Bryzgalov was perfect at the other end against his former team as Phoenix topped Anaheim, 3-2.

Mueller was the first skater for the Coyotes and quickly moved in on Ducks netminder Jean-Sebastien Giguere. Mueller then used a quick snap shot that sailed past Giguere low on the right side.

Bryzgalov got some help at the other end, as Todd Bertuzzi's shot went wide of the net and Ryan Getzlaf lost the puck. Bryzgalov then closed the five-hole and made a pad save on Brandon Bochenski to seal the win for Phoenix.

Shane Doan and Steven Reinprecht tallied in regulation, and Mueller also added an assist for the Coyotes, who have won four straight and are now five points back of the Ducks, who are in third in the Pacific Division.

Bryzgalov made 29 saves and is now 12-8-1 since being claimed off waivers from Anaheim on November 17. He has started eight consecutive games and 19-of-20, and has beaten Anaheim in two straight.

Getzlaf and Doug Weight scored for Anaheim, which had a two-game win streak halted. Giguere stopped 32-of-34 shots in defeat.

Anaheim went on top less than three minutes in, as Getzlaf's long slap shot took a strange carom off the ice, bounced once and found room under the stick of Bryzgalov.

Phoenix tied it in the early stages of the second when Doan's wrister got past a sliding Giguere, but the Ducks answered right back when Weight scored on the re-direct just 37 seconds later to make it 2-1.

Reinprecht tied it at 2-2 on the power play when he took a feed from Derek Morris at the right point and sent it past a sprawling Giguere into a wide open net.

Both teams played defensive-minded hockey in the third, but then got plenty of pressure in the final moments of overtime.
