Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Jamie Langenbrunner posted a goal and an assist, as New Jersey edged the Florida Panthers, 3-2, at the Prudential Center.

Noah Clarke and Brian Gionta also scored for the Devils, who have won four of their last five. Martin Brodeur made 31 saves to earn the win.

David Booth and Jay Bouwmeester lit the lamp for Florida, which has dropped three straight and four of five overall. Nathan Horton collected two assists and Tomas Vokoun allowed three goals on 27 shots.

"I thought we had outstanding performances out of Stephen Weiss, David Booth and Nathan Horton," said Florida coach Jacques Martin. "They got I don't know how many chances. They had most of our chances."

In the first period, the Devils doubled up the Panthers on the scoreboard, 2-0, and in shots, 12-6.

Dainius Zubrus circled around the Panthers' cage and slipped a perfect backhand feed that Langenbrunner, perched at the front of the net, one-timed past the paddle of Vokoun at 9:08.

Then Clarke, making his 2007-08 debut, snapped a quick wrister from the high slot that beat Vokoun on the stick-side with 6:25 remaining.

"I made a good move, got a shot off and it made its way in," said Clarke, describing his goal.

Florida scored the only goal and outshot the Devils 14-5 in a dominant middle stanza.

Booth took a feed from Stephen Weiss at the right circle, skated through the crease and tucked the puck behind Brodeur at 7:30 of the second, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Early in the third, Florida got into penalty trouble when Ruslan Salei and Bryan Allen were whistled for infractions seven seconds apart.

New Jersey capitalized on the power play when Gionta tapped home Zach Parise's pass through the goalmouth at 3:42, giving the Devils a 3-1 lead.

Florida countered 1:24 later to make it a 3-2 game. Brodeur stopped Olli Jokinen's shot from the right circle, but Bouwmeester collected the rebound and, from a sharp angle, fired the puck over the left shoulder of Brodeur.

In the final minute, the Panthers pulled Vokoun in favor of an extra skater and applied furious pressure, but couldn't net the equalizer.
