Vancouver Canucks (1-0-0) at Calgary Flames (0-1-0), 10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Calgary Flames will try to exact revenge on the Vancouver Canucks tonight, as the teams play the back end of a season-opening home-and-home series at the Saddledome.

The clubs opened their season against each other Thursday evening in Vancouver and the Canucks pounded the Flames by a 6-0 count. Alex Burrows scored a pair of goals and Roberto Luongo stopped all 25 shots he saw, as Vancouver rolled to the easy victory.

Mattias Ohlund notched a goal and assist, while Daniel Sedin added three helpers for the Canucks, who finished last in the Northwest Division last season with a 39-33-10 record and missed the playoffs.

Steve Bernier, Henrik Sedin and Rick Rypien each had a tally apiece in the win for Vancouver, which played its first game under new general manager Mike Gillis, who was an agent for the past 15 years.

Despite the win, the Canucks opened the season on a somber note. Prior to the game the club honored former defenseman Luc Bourdon, who was killed in a motorcycle crash in May, with a video tribute and unveiled a wall in his honor.

Vancouver is trying to get back to the playoffs after finishing three points out of a postseason berth last spring. In 2006-07, the Canucks won the Northwest Division and set a franchise record with 49 victories in the process.

Calgary goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff was in net for all six goals, which he allowed on 23 shots. The Flames were third in the division last season and made the playoffs, but were knocked out in the opening round for the third consecutive season.

The Canucks have won two of three, six of nine and 10 of the last 15 games against the Flames. Vancouver has also taken four of the last seven meetings in Calgary despite losing in its each of its previous two trips to the Saddledome.
