(7) Calgary Flames (3-3) at (2) San Jose Sharks (3-3), 10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Flames and Sharks will meet for a decisive Game 7 tonight, as San Jose welcomes Calgary to HP Pavilion for the final test of this Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Calgary once led this series by two games to one, but the second-seeded Sharks rallied with two straight wins to take a 3-2 edge. However, San Jose failed to close it out in Sunday's Game 6 at Calgary.

San Jose is coming off its first Pacific Division title since 2004 and will host its first-ever Game 7 tonight. The Sharks are 3-2 all-time in Game 7s, but lost the last time in the situation against Colorado in the 2002 conference semifinals.

The Flames are 5-6 all-time in Game 7s and have lost five of their last six. Calgary played two Game 7s in 2004, as it beat Vancouver in the opening round. but lost to Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup finals.

The seventh-seeded Flames staved off elimination Sunday thanks to an excellent performance by goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff, who turned aside 21 shots in a 2-0 victory at the Saddledome. It was the sixth career playoff shutout for the Finnish netminder.

With the shutout, Kiprusoff lowered his goals against average in this series from 3.47 to 2.78.

Owen Nolan and Daymond Langkow provided the scoring in Game 6 for Calgary.

Nolan has two goals and two assists in the series, but all four points came in home games.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 23-of-25 shots in the losing effort for the Sharks. Nabokov is coming off his finest NHL season and on Monday was named as one of three finalists for the Vezina Trophy. The 32-year-old backstop will battle New Jersey's Martin Brodeur and Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers for the trophy awarded annually to the league's top goaltender.

The Sharks hope to have defenseman Kyle McLaren back in the lineup tonight after he sat out Game 6 with a groin injury. The 6-4, 235-pound McLaren is a physical force on the blueline for San Jose.

Flames centerman Stephane Yelle will play in the 11th Game 7 of his career tonight, making him the active leader in that category. Yelle has three assists in those games.

Mike Keenan will also set an NHL record for Calgary tonight, as he becomes the first head coach in league history with 10 career Game 7s. Keenan, who was tied with Scotty Bowman, Pat Quinn and Pat Burns for the distinction, is 5-4 all-time in Game 7s.

San Jose head coach Ron Wilson has been behind the bench for one Game 7, as he led Anaheim to a win over Phoenix in the opening round of the 1997 playoffs.

The Flames won the season series against the Sharks this year, going 3-1-0 against them.

Calgary and San Jose have also split a pair of playoff series in their histories. The Sharks beat Calgary in seven games during the 1995 conference quarters, and the Flames posted a 4-2 series victory in the 2004 West finals.
