(2) San Jose Sharks (1-2) at (7) Calgary Flames (2-1), 10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The second-seeded San Jose Sharks will try to bounce back from a rough loss, as they visit the Calgary Flames at the Saddledome tonight for Game 4 of the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals.

The Sharks scored the first three goals in the opening period of Game 3 at Calgary, but allowed the Flames to storm back for Sunday's 4-3 victory. The win gave seventh-seeded Calgary a 2-1 edge in the series.

Owen Nolan scored with 3:45 remaining in regulation to lift Calgary to the exciting win.

Less than four minutes into the game, Calgary was already down by three goals. However, the Flames cut the deficit to two goals by the end of the first and added another tally in the second before tying the score early in the third period.

The Flames then added the deciding marker with time dwindling down in regulation. Alex Tanguay moved out from behind the net on the left side and sent a pass to the low left circle for Nolan, who ripped a shot between the left post and a screened Evgeni Nabokov.

Nolan, who played with San Jose for eight seasons, also picked up two assists. Jarome Iginla and Dion Phaneuf each had a goal and assist, while Daymond Langkow also tallied.

Flames starting goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff allowed three goals on five shots, and was replaced with Curtis Joseph, who stopped all 22 shots he faced the rest of the way. Kiprusoff will be back as the starting goaltender tonight, despite the Game 3 performance by the 40-year-old Joseph.

Douglas Murray, Patrick Marleau and Ryane Clowe all scored for San Jose, while Nabokov gave up all four goals on 25 shots in the loss.

San Jose has outshot the Flames by a whopping 109-69 margin, but the teams have each scored seven goals.

Meanwhile, the Sharks have struggled on the power play, connecting on just 2- of-17 opportunities with the man advantage. San Jose finished 10th in the league in power-play percentage (18.6) during the regular season and had been consistent with the extra man since acquiring Brian Campbell from Buffalo at the trade deadline.

Campbell has just one assist so far in the series. The 28-year-old defenseman had 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) in 20 regular-season games with the Sharks.

The Flames were 21-11-9 at home this season, while the Sharks were the best road team in the NHL with a 27-10-4 record.

After tonight's test, the series will shift back to San Jose on Thursday for Game 5 at the Shark Tank.

The Flames won the season series against the Sharks this year, going 3-1-0 against them.

Calgary and San Jose have also split a pair of playoff series in their histories. The Sharks beat Calgary in seven games during the 1995 conference quarters, and the Flames posted a 4-2 series victory in the 2004 West finals.
