(Sports Network) - After having a season-high winning streak halted, the Vancouver Canucks will hope for a quick turnaround tonight when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at GM Place.

Though the Canucks had their four-game winning streak halted on Wednesday with a 3-2 shootout setback to Colorado, the club has still earned a point in seven straight games (5-0-2).

In Wednesday's loss, Colorado's Joe Sakic tied the game with 15 seconds left in regulation and tallied the deciding goal in the shootout to lift the Avs in a critical Northwest Division test.

In the second round of the shootout, Sakic sold the forehand before pulling the puck to the backhand and lifting it over a fallen Roberto Luongo. Vancouver's Ryan Shannon then fired a shot off the butt-end of Jose Theodore's stick and Marek Svatos sealed the win when he snapped a wrister between the pads of Luongo.

Mason Raymond and Alexandre Burrows lit the lamp for the Canucks, while Luongo made 24 saves in the loss.

Vancouver still sits third in the division, one point ahead of fourth-place Colorado and two points back of co-leading Minnesota and Calgary. Vancouver also sits seventh overall in the Western Conference.

The Canucks wrap a three-game homestand tonight and are 17-11-4 at home this year. Vancouver plays its next two on the road, including another big test in Denver on Tuesday.

Columbus can ill afford a losing streak right now and will try to avoid losing back-to-back tests tonight. The Blue Jackets, who sit 11th overall in the West and are five points out of a playoff spot, had a two-game win streak halted on Wednesday courtesy of a 4-2 loss against San Jose.

David Vyborny had two goals, his first in 24 games. He has five goals on the season after netting 16 in 82 games last year and 22 the season before that. Pascal Leclaire allowed all four goals on 32 shots for the Blue Jackets, whose winless streak at home extended to six games. They are 0-4-2 in the span.

Columbus lost in its first game since trading both captain Adam Foote and Sergei Fedorov in separate deals on Tuesday.

The Blue Jackets, who are 13-17-3 on the road this season, begin a three-game swing tonight that will also take them to Edmonton and Calgary.

Tonight marks the fourth and final meeting between Vancouver and Columbus this season. The Canucks have taken two of three this year and six of the last nine overall against the Blue Jackets.

Vancouver has also won four of five and six of the last eight as the host in the series.
