Phoenix Coyotes (32-27-5) at St. Louis Blues (28-25-10), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues will try to put the brakes on a four- game losing streak when they invite the Phoenix Coyotes for tonight's matchup at the Scottrade Center.

The Blues began their slide by going 0-2-1 on a recent three-game road trip and then dropped the opener of a four-game homestand Tuesday against Dallas. Loui Eriksson scored two goals as the Stars defeated St. Louis, 3-1.

Keith Tkachuk provided the lone goal for the Blues, while Manny Legace allowed three goals on 21 shots in defeat.

The Blues had won three straight at home before Tuesday's setback. St. Louis, which will also welcome San Jose and Los Angeles on the stand, is 18-11-5 at Scottrade Center this season.

St. Louis is tied with Chicago for 12th in the Western Conference standings with 66 points. The Blues are six points behind Colorado and Nashville for the eighth and final playoff berth in the West.

The Blues made a pair of deals before Tuesday's trade deadline, as they dealt defenseman Bryce Salvador to New Jersey for physical forward Cam Janssen. St. Louis also acquired a fourth-round pick in 2008 from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Christian Backman.

The Coyotes, meanwhile, have dropped three of their last four games and were handed a close loss in Wednesday's defensive battle at Chicago. Patrick Lalime made 32 saves to record his first shutout of the season and 35th of his career as the Blackhawks blanked Phoenix, 1-0, at the United Center.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 24-of-25 shots for the Coyotes, who are three points behind Colorado and Nashville for the eighth seed in the West.

Phoenix is 18-13-2 as the visiting team this year, but has lost three of four and five of its last seven road tests.

The Coyotes made one deal on Tuesday, as they sent goaltender David LeNeveu and forwards Fredrik Sjostrom and Josh Gratton to the New York Rangers for forward Marcel Hossa and netminder Al Montoya.

Phoenix has won all three meetings against the Blues this year and has taken eight of nine and nine of the last 11 overall matchups between the teams. The Coyotes have also won five straight in St. Louis.
