Anaheim Ducks (25-17-6) at Nashville Predators (22-19-4), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks shoot for a season-high fifth straight win tonight, as they head to Nashville and the Sommet Center to battle the Predators.

Anaheim wrapped a recent homestand 4-0-0 to match a season best in consecutive wins. The Ducks will try to win five straight for the first time since March 2-11 of last season.

The Ducks recent winning run has them just one point back of San Jose for the top spot in the Pacific Division. Anaheim downed the Sharks in a shootout during their current streak.

It's no surprise the Ducks' recent success comes after Scott Niedermayer returned to the club. Anaheim is 10-2-2 since Niedermayer, last year's playoff MVP, rejoined the club on December 16 instead of retiring.

Niedermayer had a goal and two assists in the club's 4-2 victory over Dallas on Tuesday, Anaheim's seventh straight win at home.

Todd Bertuzzi and Ryan Getzlaf both notched a goal and an assist in the win. Bertuzzi lit the lamp for a third straight game, while Getzlaf extended his point streak to a career-best 11 games, tied with Ottawa's Daniel Alfredsson for the longest current run in the league.

Getzlaf has five goals and 10 assists over his burst and leads the Ducks with 51 points (18 goals, 33 assists) this year. He has two goals and two helpers in three games versus Nashville this season.

Todd Marchant also scored for the Ducks and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 22 saves.

Anaheim begins a three-game road trip tonight, but has lost its last three as the visitor and is 9-11-2 as the road club this year. The Ducks will also play in Minnesota and Dallas on this trek.

Nashville has posted at least a point in its last four games, going 2-0-2 in that span. The Predators dropped back-to-back shootout games against Columbus and Chicago before defeating Calgary, 3-0, on Tuesday.

Chris Mason made 22 saves to notch his third shutout of the season and 11th of his career. He has two shutouts in his last three starts, stopping 78-of-79 shots faced.

J.P. Dumont had a goal and an assist to stretch his point streak to a career- best nine games. He has seven goals and seven assists on his streak, which is just one shy of the franchise best. Steve Sullivan has a pair of 10-game streaks in a Preds uniform.

Dumont has six goals and three helpers in 15 career games against the Ducks, but just one goal in three games versus them this year.

Martin Erat and Ville Koistinen each had a goal for the Predators.

Nashville is 13-7-2 as the home team this year and has won five of its last seven at the Sommet Center. The Predators wrap a three-game homestand tonight and will be in St. Louis on Saturday.

This is the final meeting between the Ducks and Preds this year. Anaheim has won two of three matchups this season, winning both tests at home. Nashville recorded a 4-2 victory when the clubs clashed at the Sommet Center on December 8.

The Ducks have posted a win in seven of their last 10 games against the Predators, but have dropped three straight and four of the last five in Nashville.
