(Sports Network) - The Calgary Flames will try for their fourth straight win over the Predators, when the two clubs meet tonight at Nashville's Sommet Center.
Calgary has lost its last three games, but has won three straight over the Predators, including two meetings this year. The Flames' win in Nashville on October 13 halted a seven-game series road winless streak. Calgary then bested the Preds at home on October 30.
The Flames were last in action on Sunday, when they lost to Edmonton, 2-1. Daymond Langkow scored, while Jarome Iginla, who is third in the NHL with 32 goals, had an assist for his first point in three games.
Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves and has been in net for each of Calgary's last three losses. Kiprusoff has given up nine goals in that span.
Despite the losing streak, Calgary remains just two points back of Minnesota and Vancouver for first place in the Northwest Division.
Sunday's loss came in the opener of a three-game road trip. Calgary is 12-8-1 on the road this year and will conclude the swing in Minnesota on Wednesday.
Nashville, meanwhile, has dropped back-to-back games, both in shootouts. After falling to Columbus on Saturday, the Preds were dealt a 3-2 loss against Chicago on Sunday.
Radek Bonk and Patrick Kane scored in the first round of the shootout, for the Predators and Blackhawks, respectively. After Martin Erat and Martin Havlat each missed in the second, Alexander Radulov lost control and had the puck sail wide right.
That set up Chicago's Patrick Sharp for the clincher, and he delivered -- a backhander from the left side lofted over a sprawling Dan Ellis and hit the underside of the net, knocking the water bottle in the air.
Marek Zidlicky scored for Nashville, while David Legwand forced the extra sessions when he lit the lamp with 5:28 left in the third period. Ellis turned aside 28-of-30 shots in the loss.
J.P. Dumont had two assists in the setback to run his point streak to a career-high tying eight games. He has six goals and six assists over his current tear.
Nashville plays the middle portion of a three-game homestand tonight, and are 12-7-2 as the host this year. This residency wraps with a visit from Anaheim on Thursday.
