NFL Game Summary - Indianapolis vs. Washington

Final Score: Indianapolis 16 - Washington 30

Canton, OH (Sports Network) - Colt Brennan threw a pair of touchdowns as the Washington Redskins defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 30-16, to kick off the NFL preseason in the annual Hall of Fame game.

Brennan, a sixth-round pick in this year's draft out of Hawaii, went 9-for-10 with 123 yards while Maurice Mann, Marcus Mason and Antwaan Randle El each had a touchdown reception for the Redskins, who finished last season 9-7 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Seattle. Jason Campbell started the game behind center and went 5-for-5 with 61 yards and a touchdown.

Making his sideline debut for the Redskins was head coach Jim Zorn, who was hired away from the Seattle Seahawks following the offseason retirement of the legendary Joe Gibbs. Zorn, who spent nine years as a quarterback with the Seahawks from 1976-84, spent the last seven seasons tutoring that team's signal-callers.

Quinn Gray went 10-for-19 with 160 yards and a score for the Colts, who are coming off a 13-3 season and fifth consecutive AFC South title.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning sat out and is expected to miss the majority of the preseason following minor knee surgery on July 14th. Longtime backup Jim Sorgi started and went 7-for-10 with 66 yards.

The Redskins scored just 1:17 into the game as Jason Campbell found Randle El in the left corner of the end zone from 20 yards out for a 7-0 lead.

The Colts, though, responded with a 16-play, 73-yard drive that ate up almost seven minutes and Adam Vinatieri capped it with a 26-yard field goal to make it a 7-3 game with 6:55 left in the first.

Washington was awarded a safety with a bit over nine minutes left in the second as a snap went over the head of Gray and the ball rolled out of bounds in the end zone to give Washington a 9-3 lead.

Indianapolis then took the lead as Gray connected with Onrea Jones on a 30- yard score for a 10-9 lead with a bit over six minutes left in the first half.

After Shaun Suisham missed on a 39-yard field goal attempt in the final minute of the second, the Colts quickly marched down the field and got a 24- yard field goal from Vinatieri at the end of the half to take a 13-9 lead into the locker room.

Adam Crosett punched a 28-yard field goal on Indianapolis' first touch of the second half for a 16-9 lead, but Washington answered on its ensuing possession as Colt Brennan connected with Mann on a 20-yard touchdown strike to tie the contest.

Brennan gave the Redskins the lead with a five-yard strike to Mason with 10:22 to play and Matterral Richardson sealed the win with a 38-yard interception return with under two minutes to play.
