NCAA Game Summary - Pittsburgh at Rutgers

Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Ray Rice ran for 112 yards and a touchdown to lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 20-16 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers in a Big East matchup at Rutgers Stadium.

Signal caller Mike Teel completed just 3-of-9 tosses for 98 yards and a touchdown, and he account for two interceptions in the Rutgers' (7-4, 3-3 Big East) victory. Kenny Britt was the team's main outlet, as he finished with three catches for 82 yards and a score.

Pat Bostick and Kevan Smith combined for just 14-of-27 pass attempts for 158 yards for Pittsburgh (4-6, 2-3). Bostick threw a touchdown pass, but he was also intercepted.

A 30-yard field goal by Jeremy Ito early in the opening quarter gave Rutgers a the lead.

Pittsburgh responded with a field goal of its own midway through the period, a 33-yard kick by Conor Lee.

The Panthers took a 10-0 lead late in the frame on a one-yard touchdown toss from Bostick to Darrell Strong.

Rutgers tied the contest at 10 apiece just minutes later, as Teel found Britt with a 53-yard scoring strike.

The Scarlet Knights took a 17-10 lead late in the second quarter with a 28-yard touchdown run by Rice.

Pittsburgh got back on the board late in the third quarter with a 21-yard field goal by Lee.

Lee connected on a 32-yard kick early in the fourth period, and the Panthers trailed just 17-16.

Ito responded with a 30-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter and the Knights' defense kept Pittsburgh scoreless the rest of the way for the 20-16 triumph.
