Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Tyler Sheehan's one-yard touchdown run with four minutes left in the game helped the Bowling Green Falcons hold on for a 39-32 victory over Mid-American Conference foe Eastern Michigan at Rynearson Stadium.

Sheehan led the Falcons (6-4, 4-2 MAC) with 230 yards and a touchdown on 20- of-32 passing. He also rushed for a team-high 65 yards and the game-winning touchdown. Anthony Turner made up for a meager 3.5 ypc with two short touchdown scampers and collected a team-high six balls for 53 yards through the air. The defense did not force any turnovers, but held the Eagles out of the end zone when they needed it most.

A valiant effort from the offensive side of the ball was wasted in the Eagles' (3-8, 2-4) loss. Quarterback Andy Schmitt had a magnificent four-touchdown performance, two apiece through the air and on the ground. He finished with 134 yards passing on 12-of-18. Pierre Walker was also spectacular as he carried the ball 31 times for 155 yards and a touchdown. Though the defense forced two turnovers, they could not find a way to keep the Falcons out of the end zone.

Just five plays into the game, Sheehan hit Freddie Barnes on a 20-yard strike to give the Falcons a quick 7-0 lead.

The Eagles responded with a time-consuming 13-play, 72-yard drive, capped off with a three-yard TD run from Schmitt.

Walker punched in a five-yard touchdown run just three minutes later, and EMU went up by seven.

Turner tied the game for BGSU on a four-yard touchdown jaunt of his own.

With three minutes left in the half, Schmitt hit Tyler Jones with a 29-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was missed, and the Eagles led just 20-14 heading into the break.

Luck struck for Bowling Green in the third as Shane Steffy recovered teammate Dan Macon's fumble in the end zone.

Turner took in his second touchdown from the seven-yard line to make it a 28-20 Falcon advantage late in the third frame

To start the fourth quarter, Schmitt hit Ken Bohnet on a five-yard scoring pass to put EMU within two, but could not convert the two-point conversion.

Sinisa Vrvilo nailed a 41-yard field goal to make it a five-point BGSU lead.

With six and a half minutes left in the game, a nifty Statue of Liberty fake left Schmitt untouched on his way into the end zone, but again, the ensuing two-point conversion failed.

Bowling Green marched right back down the field for the game-winning touchdown, as Sheehan made it into the end zone from a yard out. Sheehan passed to Pete Winovich for a successful two-point conversion, and the defense forced a turnover on downs on the Eagles' final drive.

Bowling Green has now won nine straight games against EMU, even with the Eagles controlling the ball for almost 36 minutes on the night.
