NCAA Game Summary - Ohio University at Bowling Green

Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) - Kalvin McRae rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Ohio University Bobcats to a 38-27 triumph over the Bowling Green Falcons in Mid-American Conference action at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

The Bobcats (4-5, 2-3 MAC), led by McRae, had 280 yards rushing behind a 5.0 yard per carry average. McRae carried the ball a whopping 42 times in helping the Bobcats hold the ball for over 35 minutes of the game. Quarterback Theo Scott wasn't need that much, but he still threw for 166 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-17 pass attempts. He also added 60 yards on the ground.

For the Falcons (4-4, 2-2), Tyler Sheehan threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns, but he completed just 19-of-41 tosses with an interception. Freddie Barnes led all receivers with eight receptions for 89 yards and a score, but he threw an interception on a trick play.

After a 48-yard Sinisa Vrvilo field goal gave the Falcons a quick 3-0 lead, McRae rattled off two touchdowns (one and three yards) to give the Bobcats a 14-3 lead.

Sheehan and Barnes then hooked up for a 30-yard scoring pass to cap off an exciting opening quarter.

McRae's third touchdown of the game came on a nine-yard carry that extended Ohio's lead to 21-10.

Vrvilo hit a 30-yard field goal to close out the first half with Ohio leading 21-13.

Anthony Turner made it a one-point game in the third quarter, as he ran for a 12-yard touchdown for the Falcons.

The turning point came with two minutes left in third quarter, when Kris Luchsinger intercepted a Sheehan' pass and took it 58 yards for a touchdown.

Scott then hit Taylor Price for a 12-yard touchdown, giving the Bobcats a 35-20 lead with just under 11 minutes to play in the game.

Sheehan brought BGSU within one score after hitting Dan Macon on a 43-yard touchdown pass, but Michael Braunstein hit a 27-yard field goal with 44 seconds left to seal the victory for Ohio.

McRae's big day was highlighted when he passed Steveland Hoofkin's all-time school rushing mark of 3,972 yards with an eight-yard run in the third quarter.
