NCAA Game Summary - Tulsa at U-C-F

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Kevin Smith ran for 170 yards and scored four times to lead the UCF Knights to a 44-23 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a Conference-USA matchup at Bright House Network Stadium.

Kyle Israel completed 21-of-29 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown in the UCF victory (4-3, 2-1 C-USA), and added 53 yards on the ground. Sergio Joachim amassed 98 yards on nine catches for the Knights.

Paul Smith went 34-for-56, passing for 316 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tulsa (4-3, 2-2), but also threw four interceptions in the Hurricane loss.

Smith gave Tulsa a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter with a seven-yard strike to Jesse Meyer.

UCF tied the contest late in the period with a 22-yard run Isreal.

The Golden Hurricane reclaimed the lead minutes later, as Smith and Trae Johnson connected for a 14-yard score.

The Knights added a 24-yard field goal from Michael Torres early in the second quarter.

Jarod Tracy converted a 30-yard field goal attempt in the closing seconds of the half, pulling Tulsa to within a touchdown, 24-17.

Smith found the end zone again on a four-yard run early in the third quarter to increase the Knights lead, 31-17.

The Knights continued their dominance early in the fourth quarter, as Smith rushed for his third touchdown of the game, a 44-yard run that gave UCF a 38-17 lead.

UCF added a 28-yard field goal from Torres late in the period.

Tulsa found the end zone minutes later on a nine-yard strike from Smith to Cameron Clemens. The two-point conversion attempt failed, and the Golden Hurricane trailed 41-23.

Torres added a 29-yard field goal with less than two minutes remaining in the contest, accounting for the game's final score, 44-23.
