NCAA Game Summary - Bowling Green at Kent State

Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Willie Geter rushed for a career-high 203 yards and also scored once, as the Bowling Green Falcons posted a hard-fought, 31-20 victory over the Kent State Golden Flashes in Mid-American Conference action at Dix Stadium.

Quarter Tyler Sheehan completed 14-of-25 passes in the win for BGSU (4-3, 2-1 MAC), finishing the game with 184 passing yards and two touchdowns.

As for the Golden Flashes (3-5, 1-3), they were led by tailback Eugene Jarvis who rushed for 168 yards. Quarterback Julian Edelman added 104 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and one touchdown.

The Flacons struck first, as Geter rumbled into the end zone on a four-yard run early in the opening quarter.

A 12-play, 72-yard drive by KSU midway through the first quarter ended with a 20-yard field goal by Nate Reed.

Reed added a 31-yard field goal early in the second frame, bringing the score to 7-6 in favor of BGSU.

Midway through the second stanza the Falcons pushed their lead to 14-6 when Anthony Turner scampered into the end zone on a four-yard run.

With less than two minutes remaining in the first half Edelman crossed the goal line on a three-yard run, bringing the score to 14-13 at the break.

The Falcons capped off an 11-play, 80-yard drive midway through the third quarter with 31-yard touchdown pass from Sheehan to Turner.

Early in the fourth frame the Falcons extended their lead to 28-13 when Sheehan hit Corey Partridge with a 24-yard scoring strike.

There was no quit in KSU, however, as the team cut its deficit to 28-20 when Edelman connected with Rashad Tukes for a 32-yard touchdown pass.

With just over three minutes remaining in the contest the Falcons closed the door on Kent State with a 49-yard field goal by Sinisa Vrvilo.
