Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Mike Teel completed 20-of-29 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 38-14 victory over the Syracuse Orange in a Big East matchup at the Carrier Dome.

Ray Rice ran for 196 yards and reached the end zone three times for Rutgers (4-2, 1-1 Big East), and Kenny Britt grabbed six receptions for 176 yards and a score.

Curtis Brinkley ran for 98 yards and a touchdown to lead the Orange (1-6, 1-2), but Andrew Robinson had a tough outing, completing just 15-of-32 for 158 yards and one touchdown. Robinson also tossed an interception in the loss and was sacked five times.

Robinson got Syracuse on the board early in the first quarter with a 16-yard scoring strike to Mike Williams.

Brinkley put the Orange ahead 14-0 midway through the period with a 15-yard run.

Rutgers found the end zone late in the frame, as Rice ran for a seven-yard score.

Rice scored again early in the second quarter on a one-yard plunge to tie the contest at 14 apiece.

The Scarlet Knights took their first lead of the contest at 21-14 midway through the second stanza when Teel connected with Britt for a 42-yard touchdown strike.

In the closing minutes of the half, Rutgers added a 25-yard field goal by Jeremy Ito to take a 24-14 lead.

Rutgers increased their advantage 31-14 early in the fourth quarter on a two- yard plunge by Rice.

Teel found Kevin Brock for a 32-yard touchdown pass less than two minutes later, as Rutgers continued its dominance, 38-14.

The Orange opened with a 14-point lead, but 538 total yards and 38 points later Syracuse saw its overall mark on the season drop to 1-6.
