NCAA Game Summary - North Texas at Arkansas

Final Score: North Texas 7 - Arkansas 66

Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - Quarterback Casey Dick completed 12-of-21 pass attempts for 210 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to an overwhelming 66-7 win over the North Texas Mean Green in a non-conference showdown from Razorback Stadium.

The Razorbacks (2-2) ran through the North Texas (0-4) defense as Darren McFadden, Felix Jones and Brandon Barnett each rushed for over 100 yards in the win. McFadden led the charge, carrying the ball 19 times for 138 yards and two scores. Jones collected 132 yards and two TDs on just seven carries, while Barnett rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts.

McFadden, who gained 100 yards for the 16th time in his career, is now second on the all-time rushing list at Arkansas with 3,570 yards. He stands just 153 yards behind Ben Cowins for the all-time mark with the Hogs.

North Texas signal-caller Giovanni Vizzi was responsible for the Mean Green's lone score, but completed just 8-of-26 passes for 118 yards in the loss.

Arkansas took an early 7-0 lead on a 35-yard touchdown run from Jones.

The Razorbacks posted their second score of the day just minutes later when Dick hooked up with London Crawford for a 61-yard scoring strike.

Alex Tejada extended the Razorbacks lead to 17-0 with a 39-yard field goal at the 6:12 mark of the first quarter.

Not to be outdone, McFadden added the final score of the first quarter, pounding it into the end zone from two yards out to the give Arkansas a 24-0 lead.

The Razorbacks continued to roll in the second quarter, as Dick hooked up with Robert Johnson for a 37-yard score.

Jones then ripped off a 71-yard run to make the score 38-0 midway through the frame.

McFadden followed suit, adding a four-yard score to push the Razorbacks to a 45-0 advantage.

North Texas finally got on the board in the closing minutes of the second quarter, as Vizzi punched it in from one yard out, leaving the visitors with a 38-point deficit at the break.

Arkansas added another touchdown early in the third quarter, when Dick found Lucas miller from five-yards out to make the score 52-7.

Barnett got in on the action late in the fourth, scoring from five yards out to give the Razorbacks a 59-7 edge.

The final score of the game came on Jerrell Norton's 100-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Arkansas finished the night with an amazing 446 yards rushing on 55 attempts, leading to 713 yards of total offense, compared to just 329 yards for the Mean Green.

Following the game Arkansas coach Houston Nutt commented on his team's ability to bounce back after last week's surprising setback.

"Its always good to win. We prepared well during the week and got our heads up during the disappointing loss to Kentucky. But I thought we executed well and the defense gave us a lot of good field position. Overall, it was a good win for us."
