NCAA Game Summary - Buffalo at Ball State

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Nate Davis completed 21-of-30 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns to pace the Ball State Cardinals in a 49-14 victory over the Buffalo Bulls in a Mid-American Conference showdown from Scheumann Stadium.

Frank Edmonds ran for 124 yards and two scores on 24 carries for Ball State (3-2, 2-1 MAC), while Darius Hill grabbed six passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Drew Willy threw for just 136 yards and an interception on 14-of-19 throws for Buffalo (1-4, 1-1), while James Starks ran for 47 yards and two scores on 19 totes.

Ball State struck early in the first quarter, taking a 7-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown plunge by Edmonds.

The Cardinals found the end zone again less than a minute later, as Trey Lewis intercepted Willy and returned the pick 26-yards for a touchdown.

Late in the frame, Davis completed a two-yard scoring strike to Hill that gave the Cardinals a 21-0 lead.

Midway through the second quarter, Davis found Hill again, an 18-yard touchdown play that increased the Ball State advantage to 28-0.

Early in the third quarter, the Cardinals took a 35-0 lead on a Dante Love nine-yard touchdown scamper.

Buffalo finally found the end zone midway through the period on a two-yard plunge by Starks.

Late in the frame, Davis threw his third touchdown pass of the day, a 15-yard strike to Love that gave the Cardinals a 42-7 lead.

Starks found the end zone again for the Bulls early in the fourth quarter on a one-yard run.

Edmonds gave the Cardinals a 49-14 advantage on the following possession with a one-yard run, the final score of the game.

Ball State posted 507 yards of total offense, including 274 on the ground in the win.
