Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) - Tyler Sheehan threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bowling Green Falcons to a 48-35 win over the Temple Owls in a Mid-American Conference tilt from Doyt Perry Stadium.
Freddie Barnes had a busy day for Bowling Green (2-1, 1-0 MAC), catching eight passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
Adam DiMichele tallied 299 passing yards and four touchdowns for Temple (0-4, 0-2).
DiMichele gave the Owls a 7-0 lead on a 21-yard scoring strike to Steve Maneri with 3:14 remaining in the first quarter.
But Bowling Green answered quickly, as Sheehan found Barnes for a 21-yard touchdown pass to even the score at seven.
Those two connected again for a seven-yard touchdown at the 11:23 mark of the second quarter.
Temple fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and the Falcons took advantage on the very next play from scrimmage, as Sheehan tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Marques Parks.
Later in the quarter, the Owls narrowed the gap to 21-14 on a 21-yard touchdown pass from DiMichele to Dy'Onne Crudup.
Temple tied the game with five seconds remaining in the half, when DiMichele crossed the goal line on a one-yard plunge.
Bowling Green scored on a pair of Temple fumbles in the third quarter, the first a 35-yard fumble recovery by Kenny Lewis.
Orlando Barrow then recovered a fumble in the end zone to open up a 35-21 Bowling Green lead with 7:06 remaining in the third.
Sinisa Vrvilo added a 41-yard field goal for the Falcons at the 3:56 mark of the third quarter.
Early in the fourth quarter, Sheehan recorded his fourth touchdown pass of the game when he found Tyrone Pronty for a three-yard score.
Another Vrvilo field goal made it 48-21 with 8:17 to play.
DiMichele closed out the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Jason Harper and a 15-yard touchdown pass to Bruce Francis.
The Falcons effectively eliminated Temple's running game by holding the Owls to just 2.4 ypc for the game.
