Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Todd Boeckman threw four touchdown passes -- three of them to Brian Robiskie -- as the 8th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes demolished Northwestern, 58-7, at Ohio Stadium.

Boeckman finished 11-of-14 for 179 yards with one interception for Ohio State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten), which has won 22 consecutive regular season games, breaking the school record set from 1967-69. It's last loss was a 17-10 decision at Penn State on October 8, 2005.

Robiskie ended with three receptions for 89 yards, while Chris Wells ignited the ground game with 12 carries for 100 yards and a score. Backup tailback Maurice Wells also rushed 15 times for 44 yards and two TDs.

"Robiskie is a kid who really studies the game," said Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel. "He's very disciplined in his route running. He's long. He goes out with those hands and he can reach out and pluck the ball out of the air in a lot of different ways, whether they're coming over top or they're going side to side or they're going down toward the ground, he just has got excellent hands, excellent eye/hand coordination. Works extremely hard at it."

C.J. Batcher completed 17-of-32 pass attempts for a dismal 120 yards with two interceptions for the Wildcats (2-2, 0-1 Big Ten), whose lone touchdown came on a 99-yard kickoff return by Stephen Simmons.

Omar Conteh carried 15 times for just 28 yards, while Eric Peterman led the receivers with six catches for 61 yards.

It took the Buckeyes just three plays to find the end zone, as Boeckman's 42- yard TD pass fell into the outstretched hands of Robiskie just 1:10 into the game.

Robiskie became a familiar target on OSU's next drive, as he hauled in a 28- yard strike to make it 14-0, before a three-yard run by Maurice Wells on the team's third possession put the Buckeyes up 21-0 with 7:25 remaining in the stanza.

Vernon Gholston's 22-yard fumble return for a score made it 28-0 at 5:26 in the first.

The rout continued in the second quarter, as a brief three-play, 39-yard drive ended when Robiskie hauled in his third touchdown pass of the afternoon at 14:02.

Ohio State's next touchdown came on a 36-yard run by Chris Wells with 3:39 remaining in the half, and Ryan Pretorius tacked on a 40-yard field goal with 1:19 left to make it 45-0 at intermission.

"We really stressed coming out and playing well," said Chris Wells. "The offensive line did awesome for us today. They created a big hole for me and I went with it. Scoring early gave us a lot of big energy that carried throughout the game."

Northwestern's lone touchdown of the afternoon came on a 99-yard kickoff return by Simmons to open the third quarter, but the Buckeyes answered with a 48-yard touchdown strike from Boeckman to Ray Small to make it 52-7.

A one-yard touchdown run by Maurice Wells with 2:08 remaining in the third put the score at 58-7 after the extra-point attempt failed.
