Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Allen Patrick ran for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while DeMarco Murray scored twice on the ground and once on a kickoff return as fourth-ranked Oklahoma routed in-state rival Tulsa, 62-21, at Chapman Stadium.
Sam Bradford completed 16-of-22 passes for 244 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for the Sooners (4-0), who won their first road game of the season after winning three straight in Norman.
Juaquin Iglesias had eight receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while Jermaine Gresham also caught a TD pass.
Paul Smith was 22-of-32 for 350 yards with two TDs and two picks for the Golden Hurricane (2-1), who lost to the Sooners for the fourth straight time. Jesse Meyer added seven receptions for 114 yards and a score.
Down 7-0, the Sooners evened things thanks to the running game. Patrick capped a 72-yard march by racing in from 29 yards out with 3:20 left in the first.
Smith fumbled on the first play of the ensuing drive and Oklahoma took advantage. Bradford found Iglesias wide open on the left sideline after a double-move and the speedy receiver took it 46 yards for a TD with under a minute to go in the opening frame.
The Sooners really took over after Ryan Reynolds intercepted Smith near midfield and took it back to the Tulsa 36. Five plays later, Murray cut upfield on a sweep and lunged in from four yards out to give Oklahoma a 21-7 advantage with 12:18 left before intermission.
The Golden Hurricane refused to be intimidated by the Sooners and got right back in the game just over a minute later. Smith capped a lightning-like four-play, 77-yard drive by finding Brennan Marion for a 48-yard TD.
The explosive Oklahoma offense just shrugged and went back to work. Bradford led the Sooners methodically down the field and found the end zone again. This time, Gresham got loose on a seam pattern for a 21-yard score to make it 28-14.
After a three-and-out by Tulsa, the Sooners went back to work. This time Oklahoma did all its damage on the ground. Patrick highlighted things with a 33-yard run and then finished it, plunging in from a yard out to give the Sooners a comfortable three-touchdown cushion, 35-14, with 4:07 remaining in the first half.
The fireworks continued in the third quarter. The Golden Hurricane took the opening kickoff and went right down the field, culminating with a three-yard Smith dive for a touchdown.
But, Murray took the ensuing kickoff back 81 yards and Oklahoma led 42-21 with 9:22 left in the third quarter.
The rout was really on in the fourth when Bradford found Iglesias for a 40- yard TD. The receiver shed three tacklers on his way to the end zone. The PAT was blocked but the Sooners had an insurmountable 48-21 cushion with just over 14 minutes to go.
Less than five minutes later, Murray waltzed in from two yards out and Oklahoma was on top, 55-21.
Mossis Madu's five-yard TD run, with 5:20 left, accounted for the final margin.
Oklahoma took the opening kickoff and drove all the way to the Tulsa 16 before Roy Roberts stopped the drive when he picked off Bradford and took the ball back to the Golden Hurricane 37.
Tulsa took advantage of the early momentum change and lit up the scoreboard first when Smith rolled to his left and threw a strike to Jesse Meyer for a 15-yard score.
