NCAA Game Summary - Western Michigan at Missouri

Final Score: Western Mich 24 - Missouri 52

Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Chase Daniel threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Missouri Tigers to a 52-24 win over the Western Michigan Broncos in non-conference action from Faurot Field.

Daniel completed 27 of his 46 attempts for Missouri (3-0), though he was also intercepted twice. Martin Rucker hauled in 11 passes for 115 yards, while Jeremy Maclin tallied seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. Tony Temple paced the ground game with 16 carries for 96 yards and two scores.

Tim Hiller went 30-of-43 for 240 yards passing for WMU (0-3), as he finished with one touchdown and two interceptions. Jamarko Simmons had 10 catches for 98 yards, while Mark Bonds added 82 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Tigers drove 72 yards on six plays during their opening drive, which resulted in a 24-yard scoring strike from Daniel to Maclin.

Later in the quarter, Temple gave Missouri a 14-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown plunge.

Maclin scored on a 17-yard run at the 10:43 mark of the second quarter, pushing the Tigers' lead to 21-0.

The Broncos got on the board with 6:11 to play in the half, when Mike Jones connected on a 25-yard field goal.

Missouri answered with another touchdown, however, as Daniel found Tommy Saunders for a 25-yard touchdown pass with 1:00 remaining in the half.

After recovering a fumble on the ensuing possession, the Tigers pushed their lead to 31-3 on a 47-yard field goal by Jeff Wolfert.

WMU opened the scoring in the second half, with C.J. Wilson returning an interception 46 yards for a touchdown.

Missouri answered once again, as Temple scored his second touchdown of the game on a two-yard run, making it a 38-10 game.

The Broncos opened the fourth quarter with a nine-yard touchdown run by Bonds to cap off a 10-play, 52-yard drive.

They added another touchdown at the 10:50 mark, when Hiller found Branden Ledbetter for a 27-yard touchdown pass.

Missouri scored the final two touchdowns of the game on a pair of long touchdown runs, the first a 35-yard scamper by Daniel and the second, an 18- yard dash by Chase Patton.

The Tigers were able to run the ball with ease all game long, as they finished with 272 rushing yards and an average of 7.6 ypc.
