CFL Game Summary - Winnipeg at Edmonton

Final Score: Winnipeg 22 - Edmonton 36

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Ricky Ray was sensational under center, hitting 28-of-38 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, as the Edmonton Eskimos came away with a 36-22 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Maurice Mann and Andrew Nowacki each hauled in touchdown passes for Edmonton (8-6), which had lost two straight coming in but moved its postseason magic number to one with the victory.

Calvin McCarty added a rushing TD while leading the Eskimos with 88 yards rushing and 80 yards receiving on eight catches. Tristan Jackson sparked the club with a punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Kevin Glenn was picked off twice while completing 23-of-37 through the air for 390 yards and a touchdown for Winnipeg (5-9), which snapped a three-game winning streak. Romby Bryant brought down five balls for 162 yards and a TD, while Fred Reid logged 74 yards on the ground, including a score.

The Bombers jumped on top early thanks to an eight-play, 75-yard drive that resulted in a Reid two-yard touchdown run.

Edmonton's Noel Prefontaine sandwiched a pair of singles around Glenn's 75- yard hookup with Bryant, as the Eskimos trailed 14-2 heading into the second.

The tide turned four minutes into the second stanza, as Ray capped a five- minute drive with a 19-yard TD strike to Mann. Two minutes later Jackson put the Eskimos ahead 16-14, returning a punt 67 yards for a special teams score.

The return jump-started a 31-point second frame for the hosts. After Winnipeg recorded a game-tying safety, Ray connected with Nowacki for a 12-yard touchdown with just under four minutes left.

McCarty's four-yard scamper to the end zone at the two-minute mark appeared to finalize the quarter's scoring, but Prefontaine added in a 48-yard kick 17 seconds before the halftime buzzer, giving Edmonton a healthy 33-16 advantage.

Neither team did much offensively in the second half. Prefontaine knocked in a 31-yard field goal early in the third and Alexis Serna answered with 37-yard boot through the uprights early in the fourth.

Serna notched a single on a missed 47-yard field goal midway through the final period, and Edmonton conceded a safety in the waning seconds for the final tally.
