Rosemont, IL (Sports Network) - Terrence Williams matched a season-high with 22 points and David Padgett eclipsed his season-best with 20, as No. 23 Louisville routed DePaul, 88-68, at the Allstate Arena.
Juan Palacios, Edgar Sosa and Preston Knowles added nine points each off the bench for the Cardinals (19-6, 9-3 Big East), who have won 10 of 12.
Dar Tucker scored 22 points and Will Walker added 15 for the Blue Demons (10-14, 5-7), who have lost five of six. Draelon Burns added 11 points and Mac Koshwal pulled down 15 rebounds to go along with eight points for DePaul.
The red-hot Cardinals set the tone early, scoring the first eight points. Padgett's layup with just over three minutes in put Louisville ahead 8-0 and the Cardinals were just getting started. Palacios' two free throws with 13 minutes left in the opening half pushed Louisville's advantage to 19-5.
DePaul, though, finally showed a pulse late in the half when a 10-0 run, capped by a Tucker dunk, pulled the Blue Demons within 37-31 with 26 seconds to go. A Williams jumper with two seconds remaining made it 39-31 in favor of Louisville at the intermission.
The Cardinals started the second half as quickly as they did the first. Sosa's triple with just under 16 minutes remaining capped an 18-5 run and put Louisville up 57-36.
Louisville continued to pour it on and led by as many as 31, 74-43, with 10:51 left in the game.
The Cardinals shot a sizzling 58.1 percent, while limiting DePaul to 36.5 percent shooting from the floor.
