Troy, Alabama (Sports Network) - Domonic Tilford poured in 26 points to lead the South Alabama Jaguars to a 90-74 victory over the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at the Trojan Arena.
Demetric Bennett added a double-double for South Alabama (20-4, 12-1 SBC), netting 22 points to go along with 11 rebounds. DeAndre Coleman and Brandon Davis contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively, while Daon Merritt dished out a game-high 13 assists.
Justin Jonus connected on 10-of-16 three-point attempts for Troy (10-14, 3-10), finishing the game with a whopping 32 points. Despite netting just 5-of-17 shots from the field, O'Darien Bassett posted 11 points, while Jarvis Acker chipped in 10.
The Jags stormed out of the gates in the first half, connecting on shots from all over the court, especially from behind the arc where the team made 7-of-14 three-point attempts, as they went into the break with a 44-37 lead.
South Alabama continued its sharp shooting in the second stanza, netting a staggering 65.2 percent of its shots from the floor en route to the 16-point win.
