Fairfield, CT (Sports Network) - Herbie Allen and Anthony Johnson scored 16 points apiece to lead the Fairfield Stags over the Iona Gaels, 68-59, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Arena at Harbor Yards.
Allen pulled down five boards and handed out four assists for the Stags (10-14, 8-6 MAAC), while Johnson went 7-of-8 from the floor. Fairfield has now won three consecutive games.
Dexter Gray posted 14 points to lead the Gaels (10-16, 6-8), who had their three-game win streak snapped. Milan Prodanovic tallied 11 points, and Gary Springer and Devon Clarke each chipped in with 10 points in the setback.
Iona connected on 51.9 percent of its attempts from the floor in the opening half and it owned a 34-33 edge at the intermission.
The Stags stormed back in the second stanza, shooting a blistering 63.2 percent from the field en route to the nine-point win.
For the game, Fairfield made good on 58.1 percent of its total shots, including 5-of-12 from three-point range.
