Riverdale, NY (Sports Network) - Three players scored 21 points apiece for Manhattan, beginning with Rashad Green who also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists for the Jaspers, as they defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins, 97-87 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at the Draddy Gym.
Andrew Gabriel and Darryl Crawford were the other two players with 21 points for Manhattan (9-15, 3-11 MAAC), while Devon Austin tallied 16 points. Antoine Pearson chipped in 10 points for the Jaspers, who snapped their eight-game losing skid.
Frank Turner led the way for Canisius (4-20, 2-12), with 17 points, while Jovan Robinson tallied 16 points. Rishawn Johnson and Pawel Malesa contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Manhattan dominated the first half, shooting 51.4 percent from the floor, while limiting the Griffs to a mere 32.4 percent effort from the field, and went into the break with a 46-30 advantage.
The Golden Griffs nailed 9-of-15 three-point attempts in the second stanza, but the Jaspers made 18-of-26 free throw attempts to keep Canisius at bay en route to the 10-point win.
Manhattan shot 51.9 percent from the field in the contest and committed just five turnovers.
