NCAA Game Summary - Texas A&M at Missouri

Final Score: Texas A&M 77 - Missouri 69

Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Donald Sloan scored 21 points, while Bryan Davis and Josh Carter donated 14 apiece in 18th-ranked Texas A&M's 77-69 victory over Missouri in Big 12 action.

The Aggies (20-4, 6-3 Big 12) controlled the backboards, 42-25, and made more free throws (23) than Missouri attempted (17) in winning their fifth straight game.

"We were doing a lot little things very well, boxing out and going to get the rebounds," Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon said. "It has taken me a long time to get that through to the team, but we used our length very well today and it helped us in the end."

Dominique Kirk's trey capped a 15-0 spurt to start the second half. Josh Carter's triple gave the Aggies the lead at 31-30 and Kirk's trey pushed the edge to 40-30. Missouri finally got on the scoreboard in the second half on J.T. Tiller's jumper with 14:47 to play.

Leo Lyons led Missouri (13-11, 3-6) with a career-best 24 points and Keon Lawrence donated 13 points. Justin Safford totaled 10 points for the Tigers, who lost for the sixth time in eight games.

The lead grew to 57-39 on Carter's three-pointer with 6:54 to play in the game. Carter made 3-of-8 from beyond the arc on the contest.

The Aggies were never seriously threatened the rest of the way.

"We just need to come out with more energy, like we did the last five minutes [of the game]," Lawrence said. "We need to rebound better; I think that's what is really killing us right now. Everybody is just throwing [shots] up and we're not getting second shots, so we have to do a better job of that."

Texas A&M opened a 14-7 lead on Bryan Davis' free throw with 11:42 left in the first half, but Jason Horton's layup capped a 15-2 stretch that gave the Tigers a 22-16 lead with 5:50 to play in the first 20 minutes.

Missouri held a 30-25 lead at the half.
