Rosemont, IL (Sports Network) - Draelon Burns scored 22 points to lead the DePaul Blue Demons to a 69-61 win over the South Florida Bulls in Big East Conference action at Allstate Arena.
The Blue Demons (10-13, 5-6 Big East) also received 21 points from Will Walker, while Dar Tucker chipped in with 11 points. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for DePaul.
USF (10-14, 1-10) was paced by Kentrell Gransberry who tallied 18 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in the loss. Solomon Bozeman added 13 points, while Dominique Jones and Jesus Verdejo chipped in with 11 points apiece.
USF got off to a fast start, shooting 48 percent from the field in the first half, to take a 32-21 lead at the break.
DePaul stormed back in the second stanza, knocking down 7-of-13 three-point attempts, en route to the eight-point victory.
The DePaul bench was the difference in the contest, outscoring the USF reserves 18-2.
