Huntington, WV (Sports Network) - Tyler Wilkerson scored a game-high 25 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Marshall Thundering Herd captured an 83-49 win over the East Carolina Pirates in Conference USA play at the Cam Henderson Center.

Wilkerson, who made good on all but one of his 13 field goal attempts, added a game-high seven rebounds as well for the Herd (12-10, 4-5 CUSA) as they snapped a brief two-game slide. Markel Humphrey contributed 15 points, Tirrell Baines 14 and Mark Dorris 10 points, to go along with six rebounds, five assists and three steals.

The Pirates (8-13, 2-6) didn't have a single double-digit scorer on the afternoon as they lost for the fifth time in six opportunities. Cory Farmer ended up with nine points on 3-of-3 shooting behind the three-point line.

Marshall, which missed all six chances behind the three-point line in the first half, still shot 50 percent from the field overall and led at the break, 36-25.

During one five-minute stretch in the second half ECU scored just three points, allowing the Herd to run away and build a monumental 36-point advantage, before settling for the 34-point home triumph.

In addition to outscoring the visitors in the paint, 46-16, Marshall also translated 16 East Carolina turnovers into 21 points on the afternoon.
